Megan loves to walk her dog, Good Boy, and has $100 to spend to make sure she has the right clothes for walks in all sorts of weather. Kids will enjoy the pirate song, and learn about how budgets and planning your spending makes it possible to cover your needs and some of your wants, too!
Did You Know: It’s never too early to teach children about handling money, budgets, and the difference between needs and wants. Paying them an allowance is a good start! For older children use it as an opportunity to teach them the 50-30-20 rule. (50% needs, 30% wants and 20% savings.)
Kids can also help you with the grocery shopping. You can share your budget for the shopping trip with them, and then they can help you find the best prices on items, and track your spending as you go through the store.
